Hello Scarlet, What Do You Enjoy Most About Being A Musician?

I enjoy being able to put my thoughts on paper, and then make them musical. Music to me allows me to tell stories, and admit things that would be much harder for me in a regular conversation. Being a musician is not only fun, but emotionally rewarding!

Which Track Of Yours Means The Most To You?

There’s a track called Criminal. I wrote it on an airplane by typing down the chords I heard in my head into my notes app, humming the melody into my voice memos, and wrote the lyrics all before it landed. The song was originally written to be an R&B ballad, but as I began to play it more and more I heard more instruments on it. I got a live band to learn it with me, and we recorded the song as one of my demos. The song means a lot to me as it’s totally my creation. I’m very hands-on in my approach, so the more comes from me- the more satisfied I am at the end. Not to mention I was in a pretty dark place when writing the song, and the lyrics are filled with a lot of heavy emotions.

The First-Ever Gig You Played, Can You Remember It? How Was It?

My first gig outside of school was when I was in tenth grade! At the time I was with a band called GRaviToNiK! We played an outdoor gig in September that consisted of a lot of classic rock covers. It was really fun, and I remember just having a really good time with my friends on and off stage.

What Do You Think Is The Key To Success As A Musician?

Practice, practice, practice! That’s all I can really say. There’s no magic potion, it’s just practice!

If You Weren’t A Musician, What Job Would You Be Doing?

I would be an author! I love to read and write in my spare time, and it keeps me sane- especially during this pandemic!
