German singer-songwriter, Zoe Wees is back with her new single ‘Girls Like Us’. The single follows the eighteen-year-olds highly successful release ‘Control’.

Girls Like Us’ is empowering. Also, it brings a strong sense of being in control, and Zoe speaks about not wishing to get hurt. Hence why she is not trusting anybody, even the ones, she loves the most. Although, without trust, what else is there? Nothing. But, Zoe is sick of society’s limitations, and she cites her hate against women’s expectations, especially on social media. She gets her message across conspicuously, and it is refreshing to hear Zoe stand up for what she believes in the most.

Bold

Vocally, Zoe is a radiant force, and she is like the female version of Lewis Capaldi. Her tones are bold, and she emphasises particular words with power similar to how Lewis deliveries his gems. Nevertheless, Zoe takes a more contemporary pop direction here and she pushes through with infectious melodies that grip instantly.

The music foundation is vigorous. Like the lyricism, the music also brings a powerful sentiment that matches the vibe without dissonance. The eclectic range of sounds puts Zoe into a post-genre pop category, delving deep and returning to the top with a mix of new flavours.

Zoe’s vocal takes a new trajectory with her soft and ethereal side rising out with memorable stance toward the latter. But, Zoe soon gets back down to business with an enlightening finale with all the sounds blazing with omnipotence.
