Miley Cyrus is taking a new direction with her fresh track ‘Midnight Sky’. The single which is building momentum ahead of her new album ‘She Is Miley Cyrus’ is a gem and fans are going wild for it, and I can see why.

80’s music inspires the single, and Miley has genuinely let her inner 80’s shine like a beacon. It comes with a synth lead which you could easily mistake as a synth from a track 30 years previous. But, Miley still keeps the track contemporary with plenty of up to date hooks which will leave you itching for another fix.

It reminds me a little of ‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weeknd. Furthermore, it has a similar vibe with an aura which is unforgivably contagious. Also, the melody line comes catchy with a vocal from Miley, which is difficult to fault. Miley sings with genuine self-assurance, and the emotion within her vocal can almost be touched.

Liam Hemsworth

Cleverly, Miley brings a fusion of the best of yesteryear. But, she also keeps her signature sound at the forefront of the mix. Lyrically, she wears her heart on her sleeve, and she documents her divorce experience with Liam Hemsworth.

Speaking about the track, Miley said: “This song is really just a reflection of everyone kind of having this personal kind of woke moment, I feel like a lot of us are waking up. And you know, the midnight sky, I think is kind of a road that feels like it could be nice to take with our head up in the clouds.”

For me, it is one of Miley’s best tracks yet. Also, if this track is anything to go by, then we are in for a treat with her upcoming album.
