‘Wake Up’ by Young The Giant – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★☆

Young The Giant, the American rock band, have released a new single called ‘Wake Up’, which pushes the boundaries once again!. With a delivery that strikes while the iron is hot, the band that formed in 2004 in California ushers in a new era for their music!

The song ‘Wake Up’, off the band’s upcoming new album, ‘American Bollywood,’ gives us the chills. It begins with an unorthodox overture, immediately bringing their Asian influence to the forefront. The band are not afraid to attempt new things, and they stimulate with a soundscape that taps into a nostalgic space while also layering itself in modern, fresh aesthetics.

Sameer Gadhia, the vocalist, straps us into our chairs and takes us on an excursion with his charismatic singing. His fervour quickly reaches boiling point, and his captivating tone binds us to the speakers. The music stands out with energy, and many will hear parallels to the greats, including subtle hints from The Beatles. However, the group is still firmly in their own place; it is refreshing for anyone who appreciates music that is a little bit out of the box.

As the song goes, the group’s enthusiasm levels rise, and we’re begging for more by the time it reaches its conclusion. It also makes us excited for their upcoming album, which will likely arrive later this year.
