The Mad Game, ‘Funny’ – Single Review ★★★★

Words: | July 5, 2021

Funny‘ by The Mad Game – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★

The Mad Game are firing up the electronic pop realms with their latest single, ‘Funny. It is a track that is instantly appealing, and the road is quirky yet exciting.

Finding influence in modern life, the duo discuss perception and how certain things can be deceiving. They combine it all in a pop-dance concoction that includes a Russian-style melodic lead that is immediately infectious. The sound that is on display is out of the ordinary, and it is this that distinguishes the track as the valuable gem that it is. It also demonstrates that the duo are not afraid to venture into their own area rather than conforming to what the general public expects.

Humourous

Humour is at the forefront of the groups’ minds, yet they express their more solemn nature, too, with the wordplay taking us on a rollercoaster of several sensations from the start. Furthermore, the lyrics are amusing, and the band’s inventive wordplay can do wrong. However, the poetic story is also philosophical, virtually questioning what we see around us; therefore, it is a release to be taken seriously too.

Since it first arrived at our office, Funnyby The Mad Game has got the entire GSGM crew bopping along. It’s energising, and the feel-good flavour it gives off is more important than ever due to the year the music industry has experienced. As a result, we can’t wait to hear the group’s upcoming releases, which will hopefully appear in the not-too-distant future.
