Not the usual way in which I start a review, but I have been reading a lot of posts and articles recently which concentrate on Jennifer Lopez’s age. Who cares if she is in her 50’s now? She looks INCREDIBLE. Also, her music is just as potent as it was the day she took the scene by storm. Additionally, she gives the younger starlets a genuine run for their money with a quality which is difficult to find elsewhere.
Moreover, Jennifer’s new release ‘In The Morning’ is a gem which sees the singer take on a new direction. It all gets underway with a sublime vocal performance from Lopez; here she proves why she is earning the big bucks with a delivery which will have you clinging on for dear life. Her timbre is off the wall and her angelic aura grips instantly.
Musically, we hear plenty of sounds popping out, and it follows an unorthodox structure with an unusual sounding guitar lead echoing out in the background. A hip hop beat then pops up with a fearless rhythm, and it regularly takes a step back to give J.Lo’s top-class vocal the airtime it craves.
Hook
As the track progresses, Lopez cements her hook deep. So much so, she leaves an indent with her melody ringing out well after listening. Also, she glides through with a meaning which I am sure many will find relatable. Furthermore, her story is all about a lover taking her for a ride; she sings about craving genuine love instead of just sensual infatuation in the ‘Evening’ when her lover ‘Wants Her Body’.
