American pop-rockers, Imagine Dragons trail-blaze with their new release ‘Follow You‘. It is a track that picks up from the bands 2018 fourth studio album, ‘Origins‘.

Follow You‘ is quintessential of the quality which Imagine Dragons possess. It starts with an unorthodox synth-organ arrangement with a gradual volume rise before a sublime opening vocal from Dan Reynolds. He gets his message across instantly, emphasising support and being there for those who need him the most.

I will follow you way down wherever you may go. I’ll follow you way down to your deepest low‘. The refrain is potentially the catchiest pop-rock melody of 2021 so far with frontman, Dan cementing the hook deep. It is cleverly-written and although the vocal line is straightforward, somewhat too easy, it still mesmerises at the same time.

Innovative

Refreshing as it progresses, the entire track enlightens the world’s mood with a feel-good flow that is challenging to hold back. Also, the group experiment with their approach to music with a non-lexical vocable taking over many times. It is innovative, and the ‘da la la’s’ give the track a new edge, often going from one vocal scale to the next with seconds.

The foundation is robust, as you would expect from Imagine Dragons. They provide a booming foundation that is infallible, and they stay loyal to their signature sound, which took them to the top in the first place. However, they are not suffering from inertia either. As a result, they bring new quality to the forefront of the genre, and they smash it!
