Bruce Springsteen, ‘Letter To You’ – Single Review

The Boss is back, and he is flying high with a new release. Possibly his best new single in recent times, ‘Letter To You’ is medicine to the ears for any Bruce Springsteen fan.

Driving forward with good old rock and roll, ‘Letter To You’ kicks off how you would expect from the New Jersey legend. Furthermore, his signature guitar sound soars through the mix with conviction, and it grips us instantly with delight.

Captivating

From the opener, Bruce rises with a captivating vocal performance. He sings with his heart on his sleeve. Moreover, he pierces our heartstrings instantly with a vocal which proves that the singer is just as good as ever. Singing about a topic which many will find relatable, he articulates well with potent lyricism.

The song is all about a letter to a loved one. We do not pinpoint the recipient of his letter but whoever it means a lot to the songwriter. Cleverly, Bruce delivers killer songwriting which hits home, and it is hard to believe that he put the song together in just five days from his New Jersey home.

As the track progresses, we hear Bruce delve more in-depth with his gritty vocals leaving a long-lasting impression. Also, the music becomes more profound with a thumping rhythm structure and a guitar lead which will influence even the sternest of listeners to gravitate towards his supremacy.

For me, Bruce has not sounded this good for quite some time. Yes, his previous tracks were on form, but this one keeps him at the forefront of rock with a quality which is challenging to resist. Top work, Bruce!
