Night Call’ by Years And Years – Album Rating: 4/5 ★★★★☆

Years And Years (Olly Alexander) is the man of the moment in the United Kingdom, appropriately so, given his versatility as a modern performer and musician. His most recent album, ‘Night Call,’ his third studio album released under his solo project name. Also, it is everything you’d expect from a guy who consistently delivers feel-good pop!

The record, which came out on the 21st of January, 2022, under his label, Polydor, is available in three editions: standard, deluxe, and new year’s edition, all of which are remarkable! ‘Consequence’ is the first track on the album. It’s a track that gets the groove going and gets your feet tapping along to the infectious cadence coming from the speakers.

Olly Alexander’s vocals are outstanding on this album; each track manages to leave an indelible mark on the listener’s soul! The singer and actor’s highly appreciated 2021 smash, ‘Starstruck,’ comes in second. It’s a song that brings back the happier memories of 21. Also, it instils a sense of anticipation for the summer ahead.

Positivity

The rather spectacular ‘Sweet Talker,’ which sees the star link up with Swedish electronic dance duo, Galantis, comes in at track six. Every aspect of Olly’s vocal tone, as well as Galantis’ top-notch production, exudes positivity. ‘Make It Out Alive,’ which appears ten tracks into the new album, is also a standout gem!

The standard version ends with ‘See You Again,’ which is the perfect way to end the journey! However, the album does continue on the Deluxe edition, which includes an additional five tracks, culminating in a Kylie Minogue remix of ‘Starstruck.’
