Against The Blade’ by The Horrors – Single Rating: 4/5 ★★★★

Harrowing rock band, The Horrors have returned with their new explosive release, ‘Against The Blade.’ High-octane from the first second, this one whips your soul into shape with an ominous vibe that will have you clutching to the edge of your seat, begging for your mother!

The Horrors never do follow modern trends. They prefer to do things their way, and who can blame them? When their unique ideas come to fruition, they are at their finest. Many would say that the band has never truly attained the acclaim that they deserve. Nevertheless, they have enjoyed several significant hits and exploded into the scene quite fast following their inception. But, they appear to have been missing for some time. Fortunately, they’ve returned, and they’re better than ever!

Any Hope For Salvation?

‘Against The Blade,’ a stadium anthem with a colossal soundscape reaching out of the speakers for the entirety.  The music is loud and energetic, and it has us hooked like a fish on the end of a fishing line. Faris Badwan, the band’s frontman, rises to the occasion and adds star quality to the mix with his signature vocal tone. His lyrics are difficult to comprehend, but who cares? He gets a lot off his chest, and diving into his storey further clarifies everything. He talks about being a slave in modern society, how he is sick of it, and whether or not there is any hope for salvation. Heavy.

But, put Faris in front of a killer guitar riff, and you know you’re in for a treat!
