Noah Cyrus is back in an agile fashion with a new cover of Mac Miller’s ‘Dunno’. The track takes us even further into the world of Noah who is taking the world by storm with her infectious charm and nail-biting vocals.

Interestingly, this cover sticks out like a sore thumb but for all the right reasons. It is a testament to the singers quality, and her confidence drips all over the mix from the get-go. Singing in a contemporary style, Noah hits the sweet spot with a sound reminiscent of the likes of Billie Eilish.

Gentle

The track starts reasonably gently, with a slow tempo and a cowbell sound tapping away in the background. The singer opens with an elegant vocal, ditching her more country sound and delving deeper into the pop realm. She sings with intense passion, and the emotion is wet. It is difficult not to get onto her wavelength with each word articulating in mesmerising style.

Often, drawing close comparisons to her sister Miley, the singer stays well away from the status quo here taking her own direction, and it is paying off with a sound which shines like a warm light. The slow tempo and chill vibe follow the track throughout, so much so it never hits a crescendo point and the climax never really comes. But the chorus is piercing, and it sticks deep.

Vocally, for me, this could be Noah’s most beautiful delivery. She has a knack for crafting a heartfelt performance, but it has never sounded quite as robust as it does here on ‘Dunno’.
