Lil Nas X, ‘HOLIDAY’ – Single Review

Lil Nas X brings the feel-good vibes with his latest release, ‘HOLIDAY’. Moreover, the American rapper who found fame with his smash hit, ‘Old Town Road’ hits the nail on the head once again here with this fresh delivery.

It all kicks off with a stomping kick rhythm and a bass hook which leaps out with thunderous momentum. Lil Nas X then leaps forward with a nail-biting rap performance which will have you hooked like a bikers mitt. Contagious from the get-go, the melody is piercing, and it is everything we would expect from an artist of this calibre.

Chill

As the track progresses, we hear a myriad of new sounds popping to the top of the mix. However, the mix stays relatively condensed throughout with a chill tempo riding the track forward. Lyrically, Lil Nas X mesmerises with his words resonating well. Also, he unleashes a quality which is difficult to locate elsewhere in the current game.

For me, I find Lil Nas X hugely refreshing. He is just that little bit different in this game. As a result, it is what pulls me in time and time again. Also, I enjoy how the rapper stays true to himself with his unique sound blossoming on this fresh release. Additionally, he proves how versatile he can be as a musician with him hitting the ball out of the park with ‘HOLIDAY’. It is a testament to his talent given that it was always going to be difficult to return after his massively successful earlier releases including ‘Old Town Road’.

Overall, a top-class performance from Lil Nas X, so much so, I am eager to hear what else he has up his sleeve.
