South Korean boy band, BTS are taking the world by storm. Also, many could argue that they are leading the way for K-pop with their infectious charm and vigorous deliveries.
Their new track ‘Stay Gold’ is a gem for anyone who relishes the freshest in modern pop. The group boast a contemporary sound which finds its way climbing the charts. As a result, it is no surprise to see them topping charts all over the globe. In typical, BTS fashion, ‘Stay Gold’ has a big melody which unites and does not let go. Catchy is an understatement with this track with plenty of likeability leaking out of the final product.
Ethereal Vocals
It kicks off with an ethereal vocal performance before a backbeat greets us and instantly influences us to tap our foot. As the track progresses, it is hard not to find yourself swaying to its tight and well put together rhythm structure. It builds, and before we know it, we are in with a bold chorus with all members of the group lending their vocal quality. There is a very ‘One Direction’ vibe going on in the chorus section. But, although it takes influence from the boy band greats of yesteryear, they do provide plenty of unique zest also.
For anyone who loves K-pop, then you will find it hard not to get sucked into the band’s vortex on ‘Stay Gold’. They leverage what they do best with a hugely poignant performance. Also, they bring a massive sound to the party on this track, but it probably helps that there are at least 6 members in the group, adding to its oomph.
