Bono, the frontman of U2, is embarrassed every time he hears himself singing on early U2 tracks.
The megastar said: “I’ve been in the car when one of our songs has come on the radio, and I’ve been the colour of, as we say in Dublin, scarlet. I’m just so embarrassed.”
“I look back and go, ‘God!'” He also said, “I find the voice very strange and not macho. I was singing out of my body because I wasn’t thinking about singing. That’s the thing: We didn’t know a lot about music. We were making it up. When you don’t have music theory at that level, you write your own.”
Despite not being a fan of his early singing technique, Bono did appreciate the band, describing them as “incredible”.
