What a delight it was to have Zach Hennessey, the acclaimed acting and music prodigy, stop us for a chat!

Colby: Hello, Zach. Your new release, ‘Wasted In LA’, is quite the treat! We are hooked! What is the meaning behind it?

Zach: Thanks so much.  We had so much fun writing and producing this song.  As for the meaning, the song is about a strange night in LA, during a full moon, where everything just starts to feel like a dream.

Colby:  There is a 90s/ early 00s pop-punk vibe here. Did bands of that era inspire you?

Zach: Yes, the idea with this song was to bring back some of the pop-punk sounds of the late nineties.  I was inspired by bands such as Blink 182, Avril Lavigne, Green Day, and Good Charlotte.

Colby:  When did you write this song? Was it during the lockdown?

Zach: We started writing this song in September 2021 with the goal of trying to launch it right before Halloween.

Colby:  As the end of the year comes near, what is the best thing you have learnt this year?

Zach: This one is simple.  At the beginning of the year, I had no aspirations of becoming a rock star, nor have I ever pursued music at all, then one morning, late this year, I woke up and had an idea for a song and the rest is history. The lesson here is that the world sometimes speaks to you and you can either choose to ignore the signals or pursue them. I choose to take action and now I am hooked on this music thing.

Colby:  Lastly, what are your plans for 2022?

Zach: In 2022, I am going to work with my dad, Jason Hennessey, on launching our own record label called Hennessey Records.  I am also excited to write new music and sign new artists to our label.
