Swifty Calls Out The Government For Racism

Swifty is here there and everywhere. If she is not donating funds to local charities, then she is standing up to the big hitters. In this case, the government.

Furthermore, Taylor is accusing the government and local authorities in the United States of ‘Harbouring Institutional Racism’. She follows the belief of the majority of us that more needs to change. As a result, she is encouraging her fans to elect candidates who are passionate about fighting police brutality and racism.

Speaking on her official Twitter account, the ‘Love Story’ singer said “Racial injustice has been ingrained deeply into local and state governments, and changes MUST be made there. In order for policies to change, we need to elect people who will fight against police brutality and racism of any kind. #BlackLivesMatter.”

Tweets

This tweet comes after the star has seen a backlash from fans who have been stating that she should be doing more to combat racism. Fans have been claiming that due to the massive influence she has and due to her massive following, she should be more vocal about supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. Well, it appears she has taken note and is stepping up her efforts to help raise awareness.

Swifty is just one of the many celebrities who have taken it upon themself to stop racism. In recent weeks, we have seen a massive increase in posts and tweets. It is great to see them using their platform for good and not just to sell their singles.

So, what are your thoughts to the claims by Swifty? Do you agree with her beliefs? Aso, do you think that musicians should make a stance like this? Please have your say by letting us know on our social media accounts. As always, we love to hear from every one of you.
