Louis Tomlinson is the last member of One Direction to leave Simon Cowell’s label Syco. The label which ultimately made him the musician he is today will no longer be part of his solo career.

The reason behind the mutual split is not apparent, but it appears that Louis is very excited to see what the future has in store for him. Speaking on Twitter, Louis said “Hope everyone is doing ok! Just wanted to let you know that Syco Music and I have agreed to part ways. “I’m really excited for the future and to be back in the studio writing the next album. Can’t wait to finally see you all on tour!! Stay safe and see you soon, Louis x”

Independence

One possible reason is to have more independence and more of a say on his projects. However, he is not the first member to leave the nest. Fellow members have already gone their own way with Louis being the only remaining member to have been part of Syco after the group’s hiatus back in 2015. As a result, all the other members went on to get snatched up by other labels.

Many fans are in solidarity with the singer’s decision. One Twitter user Josh Divine said “Wow man, Big news. Very excited for you brother. You’re a great talent and a great person. You deserve it, man.. keep well, and I look forward to hearing a new record! Much love, my friend!”

While another wrote “Can’t wait to hear the next record Louis, always love what you do. Huge love to ya x”
