At just over 3 minutes long, this single packs attitude, energy and power but does contain some pretty strong language. Little Simz is a British-based artist, and has been making her own style of music for over three years now.  She is steadily on her way to very big things, making ‘BOSS’  a fantastic track to listen to, definitely one for your playlist.
Simbiatu “Simbi” Abisola Abiola Ajikawo, or better known by her stage name Little Simz has been on the music scene since 2015.
‘BOSS’ is one of those tracks that simply won’t be ignored and once it’s heard, it cannot be unheard and in some ways is the punk-rock of hip-hop. From the opening, the song amply delivers its own punch with a rare rawness, and, with the opening line “Stop f**king with my heart” and “I don’t need that stress, that stress, I’m a boss in a f**king dress”, I think that if there’s any way to describe this track, is that it is one that simply won’t be silenced or going anywhere anytime soon.
Now, you could easily just pass this song off ‘just one of those in-your-face’ types but when you pay close attention to the lyrics it’s more to do with women taking charge of their own lives and their own destinies.
Little Simz could be singing about her life in this particular song as many others do and she serves up a certain amount of belligerence that runs through it. Subsequently, it’s hard to deny that at times she’s a bit coarse but also you can’t ignore that she’s her own woman and is laying bare he soul and deepest intentions to put her strength out there.
