DID YOU KNOW? Naughty Boy paid to set up a recording studio in his parents shed after winning £40,000 on Channel 4’s hit day-time gameshow ‘Deal or No Deal’.

Shahid Khan known by his stage name Naughty Boy is an English DJ, record producer, songwriter, musician and rapper. Originally from Watford, his variety of different genres (UK garage, breakbeat, hip-hop, pop) as a producer is notably admired. Initially he studied business and Marketing at London Metropolitan University but in his first year decided to drop out. After deciding to follow his dream to write and produce his own music he set up a studio in his parents garden shed in Ealing, West London. He burst on to the scene in 2009 by co-writing and producing Chipmunk’s hit single “Diamond Rings” which also featured Emeli Sande.

In 2012 he signed a three-year publishing deal with Sony ATV and a one album recording contract with Virgin EMI Records. He has produced two top ten records for UK rappers Chipmunk and Wiley, both featuring Emeli Sande and also co-wrote and produced her debut album “Our version of Events” in the same year. Naughty Boy also worked on records between 20011-2012 for Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis and Tinnie Tempah.

In 2013, Naughty Boy released his debut album ‘Hotel Cabana’ which was a pretty decent time capsule of how British pop music sounded in 2013 and featured prominent collaborations with Emeli Sande and Ed Sheeran. It was preceded by the release of hit single “Wonder” (featuring Sande) and number one hit “La La la”, featuring Sam Smith. His first album peaked at number two in UK Albums Chart and song “La La La” was awarded ‘Best Song’ and ‘Best Video’ at the MOBO Awards 18th Anniversary in October 2013. After completing work on his own album in 2013 so resumed production for other artists such as Britney Spears, Lilly Allen and Katy Perry.

In September 2015 released song “Runnin’ (Lose It All) featuring Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin which debuted and peaked at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 with at least 2 million US streams.
