Johnson & Finnemore To Release Debut Album “Find A Love That Brings You Home”

Country Music

Country music has always thrived on authentic partnerships, and Johnson & Finnemore are poised to join that tradition with their upcoming debut album “Find A Love That Brings You Home,” which is to land on August 29th via Gulf Coast Records.

The duo have been quietly building their reputation through years of collaboration, and this 12-track collection represents the culmination of their creative journey together. What emerges is a sound that draws from classic country roots while incorporating elements of soul, rock, and Americana without losing its core identity.

Johnson brings serious instrumental chops to the partnership. Moreover, he handles pedal steel, dobro, and guitar duties with the kind of precision that comes from years of dedicated practice. His playing style creates space for Finnemore’s vocals and songwriting to breathe, establishing a dynamic that feels natural rather than constructed.

Storytelling

Finnemore’s approach to melody and lyrics anchors the project with genuine emotion and storytelling. His voice carries the weight of experience while maintaining an accessibility that draws listeners in from the first listen. Together, they’ve put together something that spans from intimate country waltzes to blues-heavy anthems. Also, with occasional nods to the classic 70s California sound that influenced so many great records.

The recording process brought together an impressive roster of musicians, including legendary vocalists Julian Littman and Charlie Dore, whose previous work includes collaborations with Gerry Rafferty, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Tina Turner, and George Harrison. Hannah Johnson adds her voice to “The Gun,” creating compelling vocal interplay with Finnemore.

The supporting cast reads like a who’s who of session players: Buzz Bywater on bass, Liam Grundy handling piano and organ, Howard Gregory on fiddle, James Everhart contributing wah guitar, Joshua Friedman on drum machine, T-Bird on drums, and Johnny Lee adding horn arrangements. Each contribution serves the songs rather than showcasing individual players.

Fans will get their first taste with two advance singles. “Babybird,” dropping July 11th, showcases the duo’s gentler side with a country waltz that celebrates love found rather than lost. Johnson’s pedal steel work combines beautifully with fiddle and mandolin arrangements, creating the perfect backdrop for Finnemore’s optimistic lyrics.

The second single, “Ride High,” arrives July 8th and demonstrates their ability to groove. The track channels the laid-back blues feel of JJ Cale, with Johnson’s pedal steel weaving throughout and Everhart’s wah guitar adding texture. Lyrically, it finds Finnemore in a more defiant mood, offering support to those who need lifting up.

Gulf Coast Records will release “Find A Love That Brings You Home” in digital, CD, and vinyl formats through their official store. For a duo that’s spent years developing their sound away from the spotlight, this debut represents not just an arrival, but a statement of purpose. Johnson & Finnemore aren’t chasing trends or trying to reinvent the wheel. Instead, they’re offering something increasingly rare in modern music: genuine collaboration that serves the songs above all else.
