Jack White officially bans mobile phones from upcoming live shows in exchange for a %100 human experience.
The former White Stripes frontman issued a press release following the announcement of his forthcoming album “Boarding House Reach” via his label Third Man Records.
White, who is returning to the spotlight after a 4-year hiatus is coming out with a brand new album and a world tour, according to his press release, fans who will be attending live shows will have to put their recording devices away upon arriving to the venue. Each individual is required to store their phones away through a “Yonder Pouch” and are only able to access them at a “designated Yondr Pouch Phone Zone” to enjoy a phone free performance.
This has been long brewing for the artist and came as a no shocker to fans as White expressed such notion in a previous interview conducted by The Rolling Stones ahead of his 2014 “Lazaretto” release, the rock n roll mogul said, he feels like wasting time when preforming to people who cannot even clap during a concert “People can’t clap any more, because they’ve got a fucking texting thing in their fucking hand, and probably a drink, too!” The statement also mentions, a promise to fans that there will be a full coverage of the events White will headlining for them to look back into whenever and share as much as desired.

Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and other photo or video-capturing gizmos will be secured in a Yondr pouch that will be unlocked at the end of the show. You keep your pouch-secured phone on you during the show and, if needed, can unlock your phone at any time in a designated Yondr Phone Zone located in the lobby or concourse.”

White is not the only artist to ban mobile phones from concerts. Peter Frampton also banned electrical devises from his concert after an incident with a fan in 2014. Frampton was in awe of people no longer enjoying live performance but instead living inside their mobile screens and recording throughout the way.
Boarding House Reach will be released 23rd of March followed by a world tour the very next month. You can also pre order a copy today via Third Man Records website.
