I Musici Gemelli Interview With Colby

Hello! What Do You Enjoy Most About Being A Musician In 2025?

In 2025, being a classical musician is a wonderful challenge! Every time you play music composed centuries ago, you experience it in the present, while maintaining its classical form and style. It’s a bit like going back in time… every note takes us back to another era, but with today’s heart and sensitivity.

What’s more, today we have extraordinary technological tools at our disposal that allow us to spread classical music everywhere. In our case, thanks to our record label Hunnia Records & Film Production, we can record in PureDSD format, a very high audio resolution that offers the listener a crystal-clear sound, so realistic that it sounds like a live performance. This allows us to capture every nuance, every breath of the music, with truly exceptional quality.

Which Track Of Yours Means The Most To You?

The most significant piece by our duo, I Musici Gemelli, is undoubtedly the opening track on our second album: The Art of the Duo. It is Giovanni Battista Viotti’s Duo Concertante for two violin no.2. A piece rich in lyrical virtuosity and great cantabile, which perfectly represents the musical dialogue and deep understanding that we seek to express every time we play together.

The First-Ever Gig You Played, Can You Remember It? How Was It?

To tell the truth, it happened a long time ago…We were still children. We still remember the excitement, the agitation before going on stage, and above all the feeling of magic you get when you start playing and everything around you disappears. That first small stage, in some way, showed us the way.

What Do You Think Is The Key To Success As A Musician?

In classical music, the technical level required is extremely high: it takes years of study, perseverance, dedication, and obsessive attention to every detail. But that’s not enough; in our case, as a duo, human understanding is also essential: learning to listen to each other, to breathe together, to create a sincere dialogue between the two instruments, which then becomes a dialogue with the audience…being twins definitely helps!

If You Wasn’t A Musician, What Job Would You Be Doing?

We would probably be sound engineers. We really enjoy being in contact with other artists, experiencing the creative moment even “behind the scenes” and contributing to the creation of something beautiful. Working in the studio, taking care of the sound, finding the right balance between technique and art… it would be a different, but still fascinating, way of being involved in music.
