Brit winner Dua Lipa, was born on the 22nd August 1995. She is a British singer/songwriter who grew up in Westminster.
Climbing the success ladder
Dua’s musical journey successfully began back in 2015. Her second single from her debut album Be The One did well in the UK and went to number one in Belgium. It seemed 2016 was her year however. Miss Lipa began her first UK and European tour, and smashed out the catchy Last Dance on 18 February followed by the even catchier Hotter than Hell on May 6.
Her fifth single Blow Your Mind made it on the US Billboard Hot 100. Other successful songs include Scared to Be Lonely with Martin Garrix, and New Rules which became Lipa’s first number one in the UK.
Brit winner Dua Lipa
She became the first female artist to reach the top in the UK since Hello by Adele in 2015. The singer (who also models for a profession) is worth £2.5 million. Dua has collected a handsome collection of accolades including an MTV Europe Music Award in the category of Best New Act, and a BBC Radio 1’s Teen Award for best single. In this year’s Brit awards, she scooped up British Single for One kiss ft Calvin Harris.
Always in the news for some reason or another, a more recent scandal was thanks to a tantrum she threw after the Brits. According to an anonymous tip off, her dressing room was set next to the backstage beauty spa. This makes it a busy spot for people coming and going. She had earlier made it clear however that she didn’t want people coming into her room saying hello or wishing her luck. So, she ripped her name off the door and slammed the door shut so nobody knew she was in there.
The future for Dua Lipa
Diva or not Dua is going to test the limits and climb as high as she can go. Here’s hoping she doesn’t end up losing fans because her music is perfect to add to your Spotify running playlist.
