Billie Eilish has announced that she has written and will perform the theme song for the new James Bond movie.

The 25th Bond film is called No Time To Die, and will hit cinemas this April. The movie also marks Daniel Craig’s final stint as agent 007.

A tweet posted on the movie franchise’s Twitter account entailed Billie’s feelings about the ‘huge honour’.

“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”

The American alternative pop singer recently turned 18 last month. Making her the youngest artist in history to write and record a theme song for the movie franchise.

Billie Eilish, the multi-platinum selling and GRAMMY® Award nominated singer has written the title song with her elder brother. Who is a fellow multi GRAMMY® Award nominee, Finneas.

Release Date

The Bond song is typical release date is in the month leading up to the film’s premiere. Therefore, the track should hit our playlists in March. Because the film is due for release in theatres April 2nd in the UK and in the US on April 10th.

The last two Bond theme songs both took home Academy Awards. With both Adele’s Skyfall and Sam Smith’s Writing’s On The Wall (from Spectre), winning an Oscar. (No pressure, Billie).

Also recently announced is the news that Hans Zimmer will compose the score for the movie. Director Cary Joji Fukunaga said: “I’m beyond excited that Hans is scoring No Time To Die. The music of Bond has always been iconic and I’ve already witnessed Hans adding his touch of genius to the Bond legacy.”

Hans Zimmer has scored more than 200 projects across all mediums. Some notable projects included; The Lion King, Pirates Of The Caribbean and The Dark Knight Trilogy.
