Barry Keoghan To Play Ringo Starr
Barry Keoghan to play Ringo Starr in the much-anticipated Beatles biopic directed by Sam Mendes, as reportedly confirmed by the legendary drummer himself. Keoghan, known for his roles in Saltburn and The Banshees of Inisherin, joins the project after months of speculation surrounding its cast.
Sam Mendes
Acclaimed director Sam Mendes behind 1917 and Skyfall said in October that he is working on an ambitious four-film series with each focussing on a different member of The Beatles. Mendes’s main concentration until 2028 is these films, which will cross and together tell the band’s story. Speaking on the Variety’s Stagecraft podcast, Mendes referred to the effort as his “next big movie-making endeavour.”
Official Casting Calls
Although official casting calls are still under development, there have been speculations on the main cast. While The InSneider said that Harris Dickinson (Triangle of Sadness) is slated to play John Lennon and Charlie Rowe (Slow Horses), Paul Mescal might play Paul McCartney, per past suggestions of The Hollywood Reporter.
