British MC Stormzy has announced that he has finally signed a joint deal with his Label #MERKY and Atlantic Records. Stormzy took to his social media to speak of his new venture, stating that we can expect him to deliver “more music, more bodies of work and to start developing and working on new talent on the #MERKY roster”

Max Lousada, Chairman of WMUK added that: “Stormzy and #Merky are a cultural force whose music makes everyone listen. Talent, truth, energy and relevance – they represent music at its most powerful. We’re proud to have them in the family.”

Some of his fans took to twitter speculating that upcoming artist Ramz may be in the works to join the MERKY Roster, after his single “Barking” is currently in the running for number one, battling against the likes of US rapper Eminem and Ed Sheeran with his single Perfect. Stormzy has supported Ramz in his pursuit to topping the charts, encouraging his followers to help the rapper, who goes by the name of Ramone Rochester, “achieve the dream of a lifetime”.

This is not the first we have heard of the Croydon MC’s plans to begin his #MERKY label journey. Early last year, following the release of his debut album “Gang Signs & Prayer” which was in fact distributed by Warner Music UK, flew to number one within its first week of release. He continuously hinted that big things were coming for #MERKY after the success of his first album, and it is clear that he has held up his end of the bargain.

The Grime MC has also recently set dates for his second #MERKY Festival, which is to be held at Ibiza Rocks Hotel on the 2nd and 3rd July this year.  Aside from all things #MERKY, Stormzy has just been announced to headline Wireless 2018 alongside fellow U.K. rapper Giggs, Cardi B, J Cole and Hip Hop collective, Migos.
