“Black & White” the fresh EP by Xan DuBose is a collection of gems that brings forth many soudns and styles into one melting point. The narrative is deep with a prevalent meaning which speaks about human contradictions. The lead track on the EP “Black & White” has a sufflying drum beat which stands out immeidately and it brings back a nostaglic quality wihch strangley reminds me of the music I used to hear on The Sims 2 growing up.
The EP gets underway with the track “Serious Craving”. This for me is a ridiosucly catchy song with a deep vocal that grabs me and does not let go! It is the perfect intro shining a bright light on the varied sounds DuBose explores through the entire EP. There is also a surprise on the EP in the form of a cover of “Don’t Dream Its Over” by Crowded House it is fresh yet faithyful to the original.
“The final track “Unbreak” is dripping with beauty with a dreamy piano overture taking me to utopia. There is a lot of passion here and it wrap up the EP perfectly!

He discovered the gem when he was 12 years old and still has it now, claiming it to be why he fell in love with music. He likes to play disc golf when he's not writing about music. He is a one-of-a-kind individual who is always the first to bust out his air guitar on the dance-floor.
