Ahead of their main stage show at this weekend’s Reading & Leeds Festival, The Wombats have announced their largest ever UK headline tour, including a night at Wembley Arena on the of 1st February 2019.

The band have been promoting new album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, which is a direct line to brilliance and strides perfectly forward where they left off from their last undoubtedly. This latest offering has resulted in some anthemic, creatively fertile material.  And, no doubt their fans are certainly willing to take the journey.  Their fanbase is a loyal and steady following that has kept the band on a solid progression, album after album.

Containing effortless vocals, led by frontman Matthew Murphy, and new tracks such as , ‘Black Flamingo’, which is a top effort from my perspective, the whole album provides an ample, clever soundscape.  There is nothing to disappoint in this new offering, it produces the new tracks with stunning proficiency.  The album has a lot of big, banging hits to appease the masses but still caters to the quirky ethos they set some time ago with their litany of psychedelic and offbeat lyrics coupled with a stonking back beat and guitars.  Its a recipe that has proven itself well, and one they repeated this time to perfection.

The band have had many appearances this summer, and the Reading & Leeds this weekend will be another one not to be missed.  So it is happy news indeed that they are returning in the new year and announced more dates that give everyone yet another opportunity to catch The Wombats with this their latest musical contribution to their long list of clever albums.
