Voodoo Rays Interview With Colby
Andy and Frank from Voodoo Rays stopped by for a chat!
Colby: What Do You Enjoy Most About Being A Musician?
Andy: Playing with other musicians and getting into the zone where everything is so sweet. live gigs i love live gigs.
Frank: Writing. I like writing; taking notes for a walk. If someone knows what happens next on first listen I’ve failed as a writer.
Colby: Which Track Of Yours Means The Most To You?
Andy: They all mean alot to me and for different reasons – Baby Gasoline is a banger and I love Twister for its simplicity
Frank: I wouldn’t want to separate them out. All part of the ebb and flow of ideas travelling forwards.
Colby: The First-Ever Gig You Played, Can You Remember It? How Was It?
Andy: The first gig I played was back in the early 80’s at Aldershot arts centre with a 3 piece band called The Pointies. Good gig.
Frank: It would have been my first band St Valentine’s Day with Guy Fixsen who later formed Laika, circa 1987. Do I remember it?? No, not really. I vaguely remember girls in the audience liking it but a few boys sneering. It was quite good, I’d guess, for a bunch of teenagers
Colby: What Do You Think Is The Key To Success As A Musician?
Andy: Finding that one person that believes in you and can take it to the next level. Mainly right time right place.
Frank: Why ask me? No idea whatsoever. Avoiding the gravitational pull of expectations, perhaps.
Colby: If You Wasn’t A Musician, What Job Would You Be Doing?
Andy: Something creative.
Frank: Painting. I love to throw paint around.
