As a result, she is encouraging her fans to elect candidates who are passionate about fighting police brutality and racism.

Speaking on her official Twitter account, the ‘Love Story’ singer said “Racial injustice has been ingrained deeply into local and state governments, and changes MUST be made there. In order for policies to change, we need to elect people who will fight against police brutality and racism of any kind. #BlackLivesMatter.”

Fans have been claiming that due to the massive influence she has and due to her massive following, she should be more vocal about supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.
