Sam Pio, a Los Angeles, California native who is only eight years old, is a successful singer, actor, model, and performer. We had a conversation with her!

Colby: Hello, Sam; thank you for taking the time to speak to us. Firstly, how has your summer been so far?

Sam: My summer was great! I was able to do a musical in Nashville, a feature film in LA, two tv shows in St. Louis, see my family in Kentucky and so much more!

Colby: You are one of the top Christian artists in the world. Was that something you always envisaged while growing up?

Sam: Yes. Singing has been my passion from the very beginning. Ever since I was one years old, I loved to sing and write songs.

Colby: What was it like working alongside John Rzeznik from Goo Goo Dolls for Amazon Prime’s ‘It’s Christmas All Over’?

Sam: Singing with the Goo Goo dolls was a wonderful experience for me. Since it was my first time singing with a famous live band my mother thought I would be nervous, but I felt right at home and actually didn’t want to leave. The cast was very kind and caring and don’t get me started on Johnny Reznik, he is HILARIOUS!

Colby: Can you tell our readers a little about your film, ‘Little May’?

Sam: Little May is a wonderful movie about love and about real-life situations. It is the perfect movie for someone who likes heartwarming movies that make you feel nice and toasty.

I’m also excited to share about the film I just wrapped this summer, it’s called “Singing in Your Sleep”. I play the daughter (young Charlotte) who’s famous Rock and Roll father dies. In a way, it reminds me of Elvis and his daughter Lisa Marie. However, in this movie it focuses more on the daughter and the impact it has on her life.

Colby: Lastly, and a little bit of a random one. If you were to head to a desert island and could only take one item with you, what would it be and why?

Sam: That’s an easy one! The Bible of course, it would be my way, my truth, and my life through any situation.
