After the Libertines agreed to “Hold Off” on studio work previously, Pete Doherty has said that he now hopes to release new music with the band before the end of the year.

Furthermore, Doherty said: “At the end of the tour we did that ended last month, everyone was really upbeat by the fact that we were all still alive after the various quarantines and John coming and going. We were all really upbeat about the future, so I don’t know how or when it’s going to happen but I think it will.”

He also said: “There was one song that was getting finished called ‘Mustang’, which was a cracker and definitely up there with the greats. I kept saying, ‘Let’s do it tonight’, but everyone was more keen to hold back. I really hope you get to hear it all this year.”
