Lewis Capaldi Wants ‘Pointless’ To Earn Him More Royalties
Lewis Capaldi, the Scottish singer-songwriter, has coyly remarked that the sole reason he released his new track, ‘Pointless’, was to try to cash in on extra royalties.
Furthermore, Capaldi said: “It’s not about the TV programme unfortunately, though that would make quite entertaining listening. I’m all about Richard Osman, even though he’s left.”
“No, it’s a song about being in love, which for me is almost an alien concept. My songs are usually about falling out of love or being heartbroken or something like that. They don’t often lean towards just a happy love.”
“Listen, we’ve got a song like ‘Someone You Loved’, which gets played at funerals. And it’d be nice to have a song like Pointless that gets played at weddings. Basically, it’s a cash grab.”
He discovered the gem when he was 12 years old and still has it now, claiming it to be why he fell in love with music. He likes to play disc golf when he's not writing about music. He is a one-of-a-kind individual who is always the first to bust out his air guitar on the dance-floor.
