The legendary Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis has hinted that this next year’s headliners will be “two or three that have never played”.

Returning after a barren year, all of the festival-goers and the rumour mill have gone into overdrive as to who the headliners could be, with Emily Eavis adding that one of the headliners is a non-British act.

So, let’s take a look at some of the favourites to head up the bill…

KYLIE MINOGUE

The legendary Aussie popstar, who turned 50 this year, releasing Golden, her fourteenth studio album, could make a surprise appearance. Kylie was due to headline in 2005 but had to pull out for her well-documented health issues. This would be a popular and very emotional choice by festival organisers. With hits such as ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, and impressive set designs, it would be a visual spectacle.

STORMZY

The UK grime sensation, who catapulted the genre and clothing labels previously worn exclusively by geography teachers (North Face, anyone?), to popularity with the release of his debut album Gang Signs & Prayer would be a favourite of the young Glasto crowd. It stands as the first and only rap album to have ever won the Brit award for British Album of The Year.

At the end of August, Stormzy posted a cryptic message on his Instagram in late august saying ‘No I’m not havin hip hop at Glastonbury….Fuckin’ no chance.’

He may split opinion, but he sure would draw a crowd.

PAUL McCARTNEY

The former Beatle has almost monarchical status in this country. His set would be full of anthems that have become part of the fabric of Britain over the past six decades. With the release of his critically acclaimed album Egypt Station this year, Macca could be a brilliant headliner. Cue a ten minute version of ‘Hey Jude!’

Other rumoured to take a headline slot at Glastonbury 2019 include Taylor Swift, The Stone Roses, Liam Gallagher.

October 7^th has been confirmed as the date of release for Glastonbury Festival 2019 general admission tickets for the festival that will return 26^th – 30^th June next year.

In order to reduce fraudulent ticket sales, registration processes are now open for fans. This involves uploading a passport-like picture and contact info before midday on Monday October 1.

No registration means no ticket, so act quick!

Tickets will cost £248 + £5 booking fee per ticket and will be sold exclusively at glastonbury.seetickets.com.
