Doja Cat Admits To Releasing “Mediocre Pop”
Doja Cat admits to releasing “mediocre pop” in the past, as she confessed that her previous two albums, ‘Planet Her’ and ‘Hot Pink’, were “cash-grabs.” The singer, who has been known to retract statements on Twitter, revealed to her 5.5 million followers that she will no longer release music that does not meet her standards.
The 27-year-old artist also announced that she had changed the name of her upcoming album. Her previous announcement, which revealed that the album would be called ‘Hellmouth,’ was quickly retracted. She has now named her next album ‘First Of All.’
Doja Cat’s confession is a bold move, considering the success of her recent work. ‘Planet Her,’ which was released in 2021, debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart, with hits such as ‘Kiss Me More’ featuring SZA and ‘Need To Know.’ ‘Hot Pink,’ released in 2019, was also successful, featuring hit songs such as ‘Say So’ and ‘Juicy.’
