Legendary musician Cher has said that her next album will be her last one, therefore ending a remarkable recording career spanning almost six decades. Early this week, the 78-year-old star—who first became well-known in 1964 alongside her late ex-husband Sonny Bono—shared the news during a private conversation at Lyceum Theatre in London.
New Release
Her new release will follow her 2013 album “Closer to the Truth”, her 2018 “Dancing Queen” album with ABBA renditions, and her 2023 Christmas CD. Cher still exudes vitality even though she decided to leave the recording booth. She laughed about her age, saying, “I’m older than dirt now, OK? I’m the oldest person I meet in almost every room unless I’m in an old folks’ home. I don’t care if you’re 50. I’d give anything to be 60 again. I was a f***ing hottie!:
Passing Of Time
When she considered the passing of time, she said, “It’s weird too because I know I’m older, but I don’t know how to feel it. I don’t know how to feel any different than the way I’ve always felt.”
“A lot of my friends don’t want to have that much fun,” Cher also cited her passion of surrounding herself with younger people.
Unique Farewell
Cher’s last album looks to be a unique farewell from a real music great with her signature wit and relentless intensity. The closing chapter in her remarkable career is much anticipated by her fans.
