Billie Eilish-Who Is She?

A recent YouTube video popped up on my recommendations and I came across the beautifully weird Billie Eilish. There’s something in her mannerisms and the way she presents herself that makes you want to listen to her music. I warmed to her by watching a piece she recorded for Glamour magazine’s channel.  That then encouraged me to listen to her songs. Her music is not what you would expect. Billie’s voice – pure liquid gold. Smooth and soothing, she can throw you into the deepest state of zen with minimal effort.

Who is Billie Eilish however?

She was born on the 18th December 2001- full name: Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell. She has over 132 million streams with Spotify as of October 2018 from  her debut single Ocean Eyes’.  Billie released her EP Don’t Smile At Me  in August 2017. Following the EP’s success, Apple Music named Eilish as its newest Up Next Artist a month later. Her wonderfully wacky clothes and choice of multi layered accessories accompany her ‘out of the box’ style music videos (see ‘You Should See Me In A Crown’, and ‘When The Party’s Over’) that give her a sense of individuality.

So, there are definitely wonderful things in store for Billie in 2019.  Hopefully, the new year is going to be a year she blows everyone out of the water because she is one artist who is authentic, real and so unique.   We won’t get another Miss Eilish for a long time, she is one-of-a-kind. Make sure you reach out and support her and check out Billie’s music by subscribing to her channel here. For those who are already huge fans of the supernova and missed out on her 2018 tour, she is continuing her touring through the UK from February the 27th in Manchester through to March the 6th at the O2.
