Florence + The Machine and The National confirmed for British Summer Time 2019 in Hyde Park

Hot off the back of the announcement of Bob Dylan and Neil Young, British Summer Time have announced Florence + The Machine as another massive headliner, with The National, Lykke Li, Khruangbin, Nadine Shah and many more to be announced.

Florence + The Machine have just finished the sold-out UK leg of their High as Hope arena tour in support of the fourth album of the same name, this tour has been a critical success with NME calling their Leeds date an ‘intimate, sweltering show’ and the Independent rating the first of two packed nights at London’s O2 Arena 5/5 stars, describing seeing lead singer Florence Welch performing akin to ‘watching an Olympic gymnast perform their most complex routine’.

High as Hope is the band’s only album to not achieve number one status in the UK, however it did earn Florence + The Machine a Mercury Prize nomination and a slew of positive reviews. Welch also released her debut book of poetry, Useless Magic, earlier this year to massive success.

The band have also been announced for Hungary’s Sziget Festival and will be completing legs of the High as Hope tour in Oceania and Europe.

The National will also be performing a massive Northern date next summer at Manchester’s The Sound of the City. Kylie Minogue and The Wombats will also be playing dates at Castlefield Bowl as part of the festival.

Without a doubt, a massive Hyde Park show consisting of Nadine Shah, Khruangbin, Lykke Li, The National and finished off with British indie royalty, Florence + The Machine, is not to be missed.

Tickets are on sale at 9am Friday GMT.

Alongside the aforementioned acts, Robbie Williams has also been confirmed to be headlining his own day of British Summer Time, with many more acts to be announced over the coming weeks.
