Emma Blackery’s New Single “Take Me Out” Out Now

Youtuber-turned-pop star Emma Blackery has released a new single Take Me Out through RWG Records, taken from her upcoming album Villains, due out at the end of this month, August 31st. Full to the brim with sass, Take Me Out is shiny pop at its best. Produced by legend Toby Scott, who has worked with the likes of Little Mix and Girls Aloud, the track features an infectious chorus and an upbeat note of optimism despite the feelings of isolation and paranoia that are part of the song’s lyrical foundation. Her ‘not gonna get me down’ attitude apparent in the single’s message is unsurprising when you’ve watched her self-deprecating and extremely funny vlogs. One sure to strike a chord with youths everywhere, the video for Take Me Out strikes the perfect balance between wanting a heartfelt cuddle and dance floor groove. The killer pop track has already been a hit on Spotify, featuring on six ‘New Music Friday’ playlists, including the UK.

Speaking about the journey of creating her forthcoming album Villains, Emma explained “feeling so paranoid that I risked becoming a person I didn’t like, to letting go of all of that hurt”. Blackery isn’t the first artist to use the creative process of making music as therapy and the result is a track that is genuine and relatable whilst maintaining the colourful fun of mainstream pop. The singer has also announced she will be performing songs from the new album live in HMV stores across the country to support its release. Even better, for all the young vinyl fanatics out there, HMV will be stocking an exclusive edition of the vinyl in YELLOW. Yes, we’re as excited as you. And just because she clearly hasn’t been busy enough, Blackery will be going on a UK and European tour in October 2018, finishing with a headline show at London’s infamous venue KOKO on October 25th. Phew.
